At least nine soldiers loyal to the Southern Transitional Council (STC) were killed Sunday morning in a suspected rocket attack on a military parade in Al-Samoud stadium in the southern city of Al-Dhale, local residents and medical sources told Al-Masdar Online.

More than 10 others were injured in the explosion, which occurred in the middle of a military graduation ceremony for local STC-aligned forces in Al-Dhale, the sources said.

The explosion, which targeted a platform where pro-STC commanders were sitting, created a large crater in the ground. Onlookers speculated that the weapon could have been a guided missile, but its remnants have not been identified.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
