STC forces arrest Saudi-backed official after storming his home in west Aden
UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) forces raided the home of Mohammed Taher, a member of the Aden local council and chairman of the committee for the disbursement of delayed salaries, two officials in the STC-aligned Security Belt Forces (SBF) and a resident who witnessed the raid told Almasdar Online.
Taher’s residence, which is located in Qallu'ah neighborhood in western Aden, is in the same building as the STC headquarters and the homes of leaders loyal to Abu Dhabi, the SBF sources said, adding that Taher was taken to a security base in western Aden, without disclosing further details or the motivation of the arrest.
Last month, Saudi forces in Aden commissioned Mohammed Taher to head the committee for the disbursement of delayed salaries of the SBF, the elite military wing of the STC, in accordance with the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement.
