Marib security forces seize drugs headed for Houthi areas
In the past 10 days, Marib local police have seized roughly 100,000 narcotic pills and more than 770 kilos of hashish on their way to Houthi-controlled areas
The Yemeni news agency, Saba news, added that complex concealment and camouflage methods were used while trying to smuggle the drugs to Houthi controlled areas in the capital Sana'a.
The same checkpoints also seized five suspects in possession of the drugs, one of whom was disguised in womans clothing.
After completing the investigation, the accused smugglers and the records of the seizure along with the shipments were referred to the criminal prosecution to complete the legal proceedings for their trial.
Brig. Gen. Abdul Ghani Sha’lan, commander of the government’s Special Security Forces honored the Al-Falaj Battalion with 2 million riyals as a symbolic tribute for their performance, permanent security awareness and monitoring of all contraband.
