Viral fever spreads in northern Taiz
A young man and two girls have died from a viral fever, while dozens of others have been identified with the illness, in the Shara’b Al-Salam District along the northern border of Taiz governorate.
In the past few days, the viral fever has spread in the sub-districts of Bani Wahban, Bani Saba, Bani Shaab, Al-Shuraif, Zouha and Al-Assila, according to a local health official.
According to the source, two-year-old Marwa Munir Abdullah Ghaleb died in Bani Wahban while 15-year-old Ekhtiar Mukhtar Mohammed Jamil and 30-year-old Bilal Mohammed Kamel Al-Azi died in Bani Saba in the past two days.
Dozens of other cases have been identified in the other sub-districts mentioned, prompting the Department of Education suspend school in the entire district.
Just north of the Shara'b Al-Salam in Ibb governorate, three people died from Dengue fever and Swine flu, both viral illnesses, last week. Dozens of confirmed cases of cholera and diphtheria have been identified in Yemen in recent months.
