Houthi field commander in elite Al-Hussein Brigade killed in southern Yemen
Ali Al-Sa’di, a field commander belonging to the Houthis’ elite Al-Hussein Brigade was killed while fighting Yemeni government forces in the southern governorate of Al-Dhale.
The exact day and timing of his death are unknown as the Houthis do not announce such casualties immediately. Al-Sa’di is the third Houthi commander from the rebels’ home governorate of Sa’da to be killed in battles along the northern fronts of Al-Dhale since late 2019. Overall, six Houthi commanders have died in battles across Yemen during the same period.
A government military official from the Fourth Military Region told Almasdar Online that Al-Sa'di was killed while leading a batallion to the town of Al-Fakher, where anti-Houthi resistance forces including government troops are stationed. Several other Houthis died in fierce fighting alongside the commander, the official said.
