On Thursday sources at the Safer Production and Exploration Company have reported told Al-Masdar Online that the company has increased crude oil production to 10,000 barrels per day, earmarking these for export, as planned.
Sources added that the company will raise production to more than 15,000 barrels per day, although not specifying when.
Other sources within the state-run company reported that production had been suspended for the past two days due to an explosion on the pipeline in Shabwah governorate that supplies the port of Al-Nashimah. Production was however resumed yesterday after repairs were done on the pipeline.
In mid-October Safer resumed production and exportation of crude oil after a nearly five-year hiatus due to the war. It has begun transporting 5,000 barrels per day by road to the "Ayad" area of Shabwa governorate, and pipelining it from there to the port of Al-Nashimah.
