The tribal support force mobilized to help Yemen's national army defend Marib’s sovereignty from any further Houthi attacks

Marib tribe flexes muscle in military parade

The Al-Sayyad Murad tribe of Marib governorate demonstrated their defensive prowess Tuesday through a military parade in the Wanab area of Al-Juba district.

The tribal support force mobilized to help Yemen's national army defend Marib’s sovereignty from any further Houthi attacks, according to Marib tribal Sheikh Abdulhaq Bin Ali Al-Qiqi.

The tribal mobilization also aims to strengthen security and stability in Marib, as well as provide any emergency responses in the governorate, Al-Qiqi said.

The parade comes in reaction to recent Houthi incursions into Marib. The rebels recently took Nihm district, which sits between the Houthi-held capital Sana'a and government- and tribal-controlled areas in Marib.
